Dub's October Premier League Team of the Month - 2025/26

It is time for the Premier League October team of the month. This month the team takes on a 3-4-3 formation and with there only being three matches played by each club; some names were extremely unfortunate not to make the cut. For example, the spoilers this month are a keeper who did not concede a goal as well as a hat-trick hero up front did not make the final cut. Remember, the players are in the positions they occupy in the Premier League’s official ‘Fantasy Premier League’.

Goalkeeper

Martin Dubravka (Burnley)

It would have been so easy to put David Raya in goal as he did not concede a goal in October, except he unbelievably only had only one save to make. Therefore, Dubravka gets the nod. The Slovakian made 14 saves in 3 games in the month as Scott Parker’s men collected six points from a possible nine. Dubravka has made the most saves in the league thus far with 38 in 9 games. His standout moment was the 3-2 away win at Wolves when he made a brilliant save right at the death to deny Santiago Bueno to secure the three points.

Defenders

Nordi Mukiele (Sunderland)

Newly promoted Sunderland march on as they ended October in 4th place. Their stability at the back is what has surprised the most. Despite a plethora of new players Regis Le Bris has his team organised and they accumulated six more points in October. Mukiele scored the opener in the 2-0 victory over Wolves and was everywhere defensively. His active defensive work was needed once again in the huge 2-1 away success at Chelsea as he has rapidly adapted to Premier League football.

Gabriel Magalhaes (Arsenal)

It is a comfortable time being Arsenal’s goalkeeper currently as the defence are not allowing the opposition to get clear efforts at goal. The Gunners never conceded in October and Gabriel’s aerial dominance especially was a big reason why, as well as his overall bravery. The Brazilian is joint-2nd in blocks with 11 in the Premier League overall. In terms of him helping offensively he will be disappointed he did not find the net as he hit the bar at home to Crystal Palace. Before that game, did assisted Leandro’s Trossard winner at Fulham with a flick-on from a Bukayo Saka corner.

Quilindschy Hartman (Burnley)

Hartman has been thriving in the last few weeks after joining from Feyenoord in the summer. He is helping the team on both ends of the pitch and was pivotal as they won two of their three October games. He is joint-1st in assists with 4 and 3 of them came in the month. His corner was headed in by Lesley Ogochukwu in the defeat at Aston Villa. The Clarets ended the month with a 3-2 victory at Wolves and Hartman produced two smart assists both for Zian Flemming. Hartman is also joint-6th in interceptions with 13.

Midfielders

Declan Rice (Arsenal)

Rice continues to be a driving force in Arsenal’s midfield as the Gunners sit on top of the table. The England international scored the first goal against his former team West Ham, as he fired in from a rebound in a 2-0 home win. A key to Arsenal’s offence is their work from set pieces and Rice’s corners continually cause issues. His corner against Crystal Palace came off Ismaila Sarr and then an acrobatic effort from Eberechi Eze turned out to be the winning goal. Rice is 5th amongst midfielders in passes with 517 this campaign.

Bryan Mbeumo (Manchester United)

Mbeumo stuck out as United took a maximum 9 points from 9 in October. Mbeumo laid on the opener for Mason Mount as they saw off Sunderland 2-0 at Old Trafford to start. They then got a gargantuan 2-1 win at their fierce rivals Liverpool, and Mbeumo gave them the lead in the 2nd minute. The Cameroonian concluded the month with a brace as the Red Devils beat Brighton 4-2. The first was well placed, the second was an emphatic finish after receiving a pass from Ayden Heaven in transition.

Bruno Guimaraes (Newcastle)

Newcastle’s captain led by example in October as they moved up the table. The Magpies opened things up beating Nottingham Forest 2-0 and Guimaraes scored the first with a sublime finish from 25 yards. Eddie Howe’s men then bounced back from defeat at Brighton, as they edged out Fulham at St James’ Park. Guimaraes was to be the late hero as he seized on the rebound after William Osula’s shot was saved by Bernd Leno in the 90th minute to earn all three points.

Emiliano Buendia (Aston Villa)

Buendia’s resurgence has helped boost Villa after their underwhelming start to the campaign. Unai Emery’s men won all their three contests in the month and have now flown up the table. In their second victory away at Tottenham, Buendia won the game with a fine finish on his left foot which arrowed into the bottom corner from outside the box. Villa’s last win was at home against Manchester City, and a clever training ground corner routine saw Buendia assist Matty Cash’s great strike which was the only goal in the game.

Forwards

Danny Welbeck (Brighton)

Welbeck is now joint-3rd top scorer in the Premier League with five goals after netting three times in October. Welbeck always seems to save his best performances for Newcastle, and he did so once again as he bagged a brace to gain three points. His first finish was a composed dink over Nick Pope, his second was placed well into the corner with just six minutes remaining. Ther Seagulls last match saw them beaten 4-2 at Manchester United where Welbeck scored a free-kick against his old club.

Erling Haaland (Manchester City)

It may be boring to some, but Haaland cannot stop scoring and therefore he makes the cut again as he took his season’s tally to 11. City scored three goals in the month and Haaland got all three. First off, he wrestled Sepp van den Berg and then fired low early on to get a 1-0 win at Brentford. Pep Guardiola’s men then took all three points against Everton thanks to a second half double from the Norwegian. The first goal was a from a Nico O’Reilly’s ball in, the second was a low finish in the centre of the goal.

Eli Kroupi Jr. (Bournemouth)

As Bournemouth’s two main strikers Evanilson and Enes Unal were out they needed someone to step up. Youngster Eli Kroupi announced himself with a late equaliser last month at Leeds off the bench and given the chance to get some starts in October he took full advantage. The Cherries were held to a 3-3 draw away at Crystal Palace after taking a 2-goal lead. Kroupi punished poor marking with a tap-in and then scored again with a composed low effort before the Eagles’ fightback. Kroupi then smashed in a goal from well outside the penalty area as Andoni Iraola’s men were victorious at home against Nottingham Forest.
